The Beginning

It all started with two dollars.

In March of 2016, our brilliant Dad, Calvin Winters was diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Cancer. This life changing diagnoses would become the catalyst for Megan and Amy to embark on regular road trips across Texas to visit their parents up in the panhandle. It was here, in the car, where two sisters would spend countless hours brainstorming ideas for a wide array of business endeavors that they could launch together. The list continued to grow, until one day when they stumbled upon the perfect combination of their combined expertise, a SNOW based food truck.

This idea would dance around their heads and become the most common topic of discussion. It was only natural that the girls would, once again, begin plotting out this business endeavor while waiting in line for Toy Story Mania! at Disney World. It was here, on this magical family vacation, that their Dad would pull out two $1 bills and hand to the girls with a big smile, making him the first investor in Winters’ SNOW.

With his passing in the summer of 2020, the girls would frame his investment for their office as a reminder of a father who always believed in them and encouraged them to follow their dreams, no matter how big. We honor his legacy and hope to continue making him proud while slinging Winters’ SNOW for the masses.

The Team

Megan Winters

Megan was raised in the panhandle of Texas with a few of her adolescent years spent across the pond in the heart of England. Her summers throughout high school and university were filled slinging SNOW and serving up BBQ Nachos at the Coolboose, a place she would deem her first love.

After graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University with a BA in Theater Arts, she worked her way across the country before landing in Dallas, TX to pursue a career as an AEA Stage Manager. Using her impeccable organizational and people skills, she spent a decade working at the Dallas Theater Center, where some of her favorite shows to work included: Fly, Colossal, Dreamgirls, Hair and Public Work Dallas’ As You Like.

While still occasionally working for different theaters across the country, she is now a co-owner of her own little piece of heaven, Winters’ Snow, once again spending her summers slinging SNOW. But this time for the DFW masses.

Amy Winters

Amy was raised across the pond in the heart of England where she developed the most adorable accent you ever heard. After returning to the Texas panhandle, she would trade it in for a slight Texas twang. As a jack of all trades, her school years were spent following countless avenues of interest, from baking and cake decorating, to quilting and sewing, to a life long love of the marimba and ukulele.

Her hobby hopping quickly turned into job hopping. There were the summers working in a green house and at a camp kitchen, the college years spent building sets and tailoring costumes while majoring in Music. There were a few years of working on publicity and advertising for her local United Way. As well as flipping more than a few blizzards in her hometown Dairy Queen.

Eventually she moved to Dallas, at her sister’s urging, and found a job working on a local food truck, also at her sister’s urging. She quickly fell in love with the “truckin’ life” and now happily spends her summer slinging SNOW for the DFW masses as a co-owner of Winters’ SNOW.
